Designed for Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate learners. It features BBC content throughout and helps learners increase their confidence in all skill areas, with a strong focus on spoken and written communication.
What you will learn
Improve their speaking ability in English both in terms of fluency and
comprehensibility & give oral presentations, receive feedback on their performance
Develop public speaking abilities by giving opportunities to speak in class, both informally and formally.
Demonstrate listening skills related to native speakers’ utterances that contain some unfamiliar vocabulary without much difficulty.
Evaluate the reading content for facts or opinions; make inferences by analyzing the clues to interpret the author’ point of view.
Draw meaning from familiar texts by using previously learned vocabulary skills of words’ prefixes/suffixes and synonyms/antonyms. (up to 500+ words)
review the grammatical forms of English and the use of these forms in specific communicative contexts, which include: class activities, homework assignments
Apply learned grammatical and idiomatic structures to self-monitor speech
Use techniques of comparison/contrast and cause/effect to write short paragraph on familiar topics
Be able to get familiar with listening for main and supporting ideas, specific information, read for detailed understanding, scanning and skimming strategies in IELTS
Assessment
Assessment is continuous throughout the course via classroom assignments & feedback sessions, learners are formally tested with Milestone achievement test at the end of the course.
Course Completion requirements
Students must have at least 80% attendance (10 roll calls out of 12) to get certificate.
Students must successfully complete the following online practices:
Vocabulary [up to 200 words].
Students must take periodic assessments for speaking and listening, pronunciation, and vocabulary using the online platform. Feedback from the teacher will be given in the face-to-face sessions.
Students must take the Explorer Achievement Test by the end of the course.
